Established in 1995, the American Eye Center holds the distinction of being the country's premier ophthalmic laser center for the treatment of nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.

In November of 2000, the Center moved from The Medical City to Shangri-La Plaza and is now a full service, world class, diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical eye facility. Managed by the Associated Eye specialists (www.EyeMD.net), the most experienced and longest-running Eye MD group practice in the Philippines, the Center has the largest clinical experience in Southeast Asia with over 35,000 refractive procedures performed.

The Center offers "No-Stitch Cataract Surgery" under "Eye Drop Anesthesia" using the latest machines - exactly as it is done at leading eye centers in the United States.

The American Eye Center houses a laser suite, two operating rooms, a recovery room, seven examining rooms, and a spacious reception area. The latest diagnostic equipment can be found for the early detection and monitoring of all eye diseases such as Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy and Cataract. The American Eye Center is a full-service ambulatory surgical facility accredited with the Department of Health (DOH) and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC) (www.philhealth.gov.ph).

A recent milestone is the opening of the American Eye Cataract Center at Level 4 Greenbelt 5, Ayala Center, Makati City. It is also a complete diagnostic and surgical eye facility with state-of-the-art equipment to cater to our patients in the nearby areas.
